is this a professional studio?
Seriously that's your question? -.-
Yes. ShadowCast is a professional audio recording studio, RIAA approved ISRC Manager, and official recording label.
All of our service categories and service options are provided at the professional-grade level and yield high-quality results. Next question.
Do you have auto-tune? You can "just auto-tune it right?"
Yes, ShadowCast Studios does have the Auto-Tune VTS software plugin. However, you need to be aware of the fact that  Auto-Tune is HIGHLY misunderstood by most people who are not familiar with it first hand.

We have seen a number of artists come to the studio with the idea that Auto-Tune is a gift from the gods of sound that has the power to make a retired Marine Corps drill instructor sound like Justin Timberlake. That is not what Auto-Tune does. At all. Nothing does that.

​Auto-Tune is a pitch corrector, it makes minor adjustments to the pitch of vocals to keep them on the key you set it to, which would be the key that the music is in. It is a very good tool for the job it was created to do. But to be up front a honest with you, if you are counting on Auto-Tune to make your entire production a success, you will likely be disappointed. Your first course of action should be vocal training and singing lessons, then practice your lyrics, and practice, and practice........and practice. Go through them several times and using various vocal patterns, singing techniques, etc. As a lyrical / vocal artist, the music is your canvas, your lyrics are your scene, the microphone is your brush, and your voice is your paint. The way you color it is your creative style and it is up to YOU to create it and send it through the mic. If you are serious about making music, and you want it to sound the best it possibly can, you should always try to do as much as you can on the mic rather than leaving it to be done digitally since everytime the recording is digitally edited, it can take away from the orginal quality.
HOW FAR CAN YOU TAKE MY PRODUCTION?
ShadowCast Studios has the resources to carry your audio production project as deep into the production process as you want us to! If you just want to record something for fun, we can do that. Or if you want to record a totally original production with original music and original music, we can do that too.
Beyond recording, mixing, and mastering;  as a multi-arts production studio, we have the resources to handle your photoshoots, cover art, music videos, and more! For hip-hop artists, we can also create original, exclusive beats for you that only YOU will have, or provide you with any of our non-exlcusive beats that you have full, royalty-free, for profit use of once your production is complete!
Do you record on analog or digital equipment?
At ShadowCast Studios we currently all of our recording, mixing, and mastering on digital equipment. We do plan to add analog equipment to our studio in the future. We use Adobe Audition, MAGIX ACID, MAGIX Soundforge, and a wide range of plugins including Auto-Tune. These are  very  professional audio capturing, mixing and mastering software programs. These programs, coupled with the professional recording equipment in our studio produce a clear, high quality recording. 
wHY ARE YOUR PRICES SO LOW? What am i giving up?
Our prices are so low because you shouldn't have to be a rich celebrity to record. We recognized the fact that everyone has to start somewhere and we aim to make it possible for you to do that regardless of budget. For us, its about the music and the art, creating something new for the world and helping you realize your vision. You aren't giving up anything.
wHAT IF i MESS UP?
Then we will just record it until you get it right. Your ShadowCast Engineer is there to make sure you sound good, they won't be annoyed if you have to restart or back up! Just let them know you want to redo that part.
Can i bring someone with me?
ShadowCast Studios allows you to bring up to two non-recording adult guests with you. They may sit in the writing area and watch you on the televison connected to the wireless camera in the recording room. You will be responsible for them during your time here. If they begin causing trouble, disrespecting studio staff, or being disruptive; you will be asked to get them under control. If they continue to be a problem, you may be asked to leave with them, and in some cases, you may not be allowed to record at ShadowCast Studios in the future.
Do you make original, exclusive rap beats?
Yes, ShadowCast Studio can set you up with a totally original production. You can select to have an exclusive beat made for your session while selecting the add on services you want. Please be aware that we prefer to have as much advance notice as we possibly can get for exclusive beat productions. The more time we have to work on your exclusive, the better it's going to be. Choosing to commission an exclusive beat production will also add to the booking duration on the calendar. We give you this additional time free of charge when you purchase an exlcusive beat to be used for fine tuning any last minute basic adjustments you want us to make to the beat and to give you time to write or rewrite your lyrics if you decide you need to since it is an exclusive production.
Your regular studio session time starts when any of the following happen:
  • Your extra time runs out or
  • Your lyrics hit the mic on a live take
  • You aren't using the extra time for the purpose which it is provided for. (i.e. playing games, Snap Chat, sleeping, and other activities not related to revisions to the beat or your lyrics.) 
I don't sing but I play an instrument, can I record at your studio?
It depends on the instrument you play. Most of our microphones are vocal mics, but we do have some instrument microphones. The ones we have are designed more towards recording bass instruments and drums. Please email us for more information if you are thinking about recording an instrument at our recording studio.
​CAN YOU RECORD MY BAND?
​Currently, ShadowCast Studios does not the space to properly track a full size band. We can track some individual instruments independently with no problem. We are in the process of setting up an area in the studio for tracking a full band but it will be some time still before it is ready.
​HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECORD ONE TRACK?

Can you make a beat that sounds like "Insert song name here?"
No, ShadowCast Studios does not make sound alike beats, sorry. We produce original beats and there is nothing original about copying someone else's work. Not to mention it likely wouldn't sound good. We let our beats produce themselves, if you try to force a beat to sound a certain way, it won't come out well. 
What software do you use?
ShadowCast Studios utilizes a number of paid professional audio production software programs in our recording studio. Each program has a specific use. The ones we use with your production will depend on the nature of it. The main programs are we use are listed below.
  1.  Pro Tools - Yes we have it. Pro-Tools has its benefits but like Auto-Tune, its uses have been somewhat over exaggerated by the recording industry. Those who aren't familiar with it seem to view Pro-Tools as a god-like entity when really its just another program. It's not the program that is going to make you sound good. Its A.) Your own talent and B.) The skill of your audio engineer. Or in the words of ShadowCast's CEO, William Adams, "It sounds good right? Ok, then what's it ****** matter what software mastered it?"  Check out the tracks in our Portfolio and judge for yourself. 
  2. Adobe Audition - This is our preferred software for recording, and no its not free. We are subscribed to the Adobe Creative Cloud which we pay a monthly fee for. In return, we get access to all of the Adobe creative software programs. Audition, coupled with a number of different plugins that we use, makes a solid program for recording, mixing, and mastering a great sounding track.
  3. ACID Music Studio 10.0 - This is our go-to program for recording instruments as well as musical arrangement and composing. Like our other software, this program is no free. It also supports MIDI editing. MIDI can be edited on-screen or you can use physical hardware such as a keyboard to interface with the program.
How do you deliver my finished track?
You will receive your mixed and mastered track via email in both .wav and .mp3 audio file formats once you have fully paid the cost of your session. While booking your session you may also order one or more CD copies of your tracks if you wish to do so. Email delivery is included with your session at no extra cost. The price for CD copies will be determined based on the number of CDs that you want.
